When the referee blows his whistle at the Sun Hat Villas on Saturday 1st October to start the third round qualifying of the FA Cup there is only one thing that is guaranteed.

Both sides will start with eleven men.

Despite the fact that the Whites face lower-league opposition Sam Wilkinson’s men know only too well that all things start equal and upsets can follow, remembering that Lincoln United beat an outfit two leagues above them in the previous round.

SportsLinc asked Whites’ boss Sam Wilkinson about the game against Handsworth PFC.

He said: “It’s a good draw for us but only on paper!!!

“We said we would take any draw at home but we know they are a very good side who are one of the title favourites in the league below us.

“They would probably be in the top half of our league.

“However in terms of who we could have played you would have to say it’s a decent draw.

“But anything can happen in the FA Cup and Saturday proved that.

“It will only be a good draw if we win.

“This group of players will not take them lightly and Chris Hall, Stuart Reddington and myself will be drilling that into them right up until we play the next round.

“But we still have two very important league games before that.”
