A very physical Barrow outfit stood firm against the attacking prowess of the Imps this afternoon and made the long journey home with three points in the bag.
The visitors took the lead after nine minutes when striker Richard Bennett headed beyond the diving Paul Farman.
Nathan Arnold equalised on 33 minutes after his persistence paid off with a strike that pulled his team back into the game.
It was proving difficult however to penetrate the opposition defence and even big Matt Rhead was losing the aerial battles against a very tall and powerful back line.
The sucker punch came in the 85th minute when a stooping header from Byron Harrison squirmed through the legs of Paul Farman to put Barrow ahead.
Despite the seven minutes of added-on time Danny Cowley’s men could not find the equaliser, much to the disappointment of the crowd of just over 3,500.
