It turned out to be a bad day for local cricket in general as Saturday’s games were either cancelled or abandoned.

However it turned out to be an excellent day specifically for Cherry Willingham 1st X1 who were crowned champions of the Lincolnshire County Cricket League Premier Division.

With only one match remaining for each team in the division, Cherry sit proudly at the top of the table on 329 points a massive 50 points ahead of second-placed Alford and District.

There is still an opportunity for Bracebridge Heath 2nd X1 to claim runners-up spot this weekend if they can claim maximum points against bottom-club Outcasts and Alford claim less than 18 points at Caistor CC.
