Wendy Dunham and daughter Amy Wright are fast-becoming the talk of the horse-riding fraternity after their magnificent efforts in yesterday’s show jumping event at Elm Farm.
Wendy decided to focus on the show jumping as she felt her horse Cruise needed more practice over the fences.
The tactic obviously worked as a third-place spot was secured out of a field of 15.
Meanwhile daughter Amy on Jasmine scored two clear rounds on the day in two different classes and came home with a fifth and second place respectively.
Wendy said: “I decided Cruise needed more practice over the jumps as he has not done a lot of show jumping.
“I was delighted because he went really well. We were going for a nice round rather than a fast time.
“It was all about him getting used to the jumps.
“Amy’s horse Jasmine was a bit feisty for some reason yesterday.
“But they did really well to finish second and fifth.
“I will ride Cruise in the one-day event at Hackthorn in two weeks’ time when we will be aiming to finish the season on a high.”
