Lincoln United slumped to their second successive defeat of the Bank Holiday weekend after going down 1-0 at Loughborough Dynamo.

SportsLinc caught up with Whites’ boss Sam Wilkinson to get his thoughts on the game.

He said: ” Yesterday’s game was similar to Saturday in that we got caught again with a sucker punch.

“We started the game the better side and we should have gone ahead. They cleared two off the line.

“We had some good opportunities but failed to find the final ball.

“We then took our foot off the gas. They had a couple of chances but we defended well again.

“In the second half we started the better side once again and should have gone ahead but missed some chances. This is costing us.

“We then got caught on the break again.

“It was a poor goal to concede following a bit of a mix-up and all their lad had to do was tap it in.

“We then dominated the game and hit the bar.

“We should also have had a penalty.

“But all in all we weren’t good enough. Nowhere near our standards.

“The lads all know that.

“We have got to take this weekend on the chin, stick our chests out and get on with the job.”

This Saturday the Whites entertain Dunkirk FC at the Sun Hat Villas Stadium in the first preliminary round of the Emirates FA Cup kick off 3pm.
