Lincoln United came up against a Romulus team who came to Ashby Avenue with a record of three consecutive away games.

Yesterday they made it four on the bounce with a 2-1 win at the Sun Hat Villas.

SportsLinc asked Whites’ boss Sam Wilkinson about the game.

He said: “Romulus worked really hard and played long balls into the channels.

“They looked to hit us on the break and their game plan worked to a T.

“We actually played better than last week and created a lot more chances.

“We need to be more clinical in front of goal and must do better in the final third.

“We gave the ball away too cheaply all day which left us open to their counter-attacks.

” Both their goals were similar and credit to them.

“However, we were naive in our defending and we need to move on quickly.”

Tomorrow the Whites travel to Loughborough in search of their first league win of the new campaign.
