This is the continuing story of 31-year-old Amy Wright whose world was turned upside down two years’ ago after being diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis.
Six days after receiving this shattering news Amy decided to fight the impending battle by leading a life which would help her combat the illness both physically and psychologically.
What did she do? She bought a horse.
For the last two years Amy has taken part in dressage competitions around the region on her horse Jasmine and this weekend Amy took a huge step further by entering a one-day eventing competition at Epworth.
So not content with just riding in the Dressage section, Amy and Jasmine now choose to contend with the challenging Show Jumping fences and the Cross Country course.
And the result?
Amy and Jasmine finished just outside the top places after a magnificent clear round in the show jumping and an excellent dressage performance.
On a very tough cross-country course Jasmine had a one-stop refusal.
Amy’s mum Wendy said: “It was a long day but to take part in three events was really special and we are so proud of Amy.”
And so is everyone at SportsLinc. Great work Amy.
