Nettleham FC Under 18s drew 0-0 with Birchwood Under 17s on the Cherry Willingham 3G pitch last night.
With players on holiday or injured both clubs put out scratch sides with Nettleham keeper Ryan O’Hanrahan turning out in midfield.
Both teams moved the ball round impressively though poor decision-making in the final third meant the game ended in stalemate.
Birchwood did hit the bar however from only six yards when it seemed easier to score than miss.
Nettleham boss Scott Russell felt the game was a positive experience as it gave his players more game time.
Next Sunday his team are away to Rustons Sport Men’s Sunday League outfit.
