Lincoln City manager Danny Cowley told SportsLinc today that the supporters at the club have a major part to play in any success his team achieves this season.

He said: “The support we have had since joining the club has been fantastic.

“The away support at Woking on Saturday was brilliant. It was like nothing I have ever seen.

“For that many people to make their way down to Woking particularly in all that traffic was fantastic.

“Nicky and I and the rest of the management staff and players are all very appreciative of it.

“After conceding a goal just after half-time we could have gone under and it’s at times like that you really need the supporters.

“I thought they were brilliant. They spurred us on and allowed us to finish strongly.

“Everyone one of them played their part.

“They were there in numbers and were really loud. For Nicky and I who come from a smaller club with a smaller fan base it’s great to have the fans behind us.

“The supporters are going to be massive for us this year.

“Anything we achieve will be a collective effort and the supporters will have a massive part to play.”
