CRICKET: LINCOLNSHIRE COUNTY LEAGUE PREMIER DIVISION

Cherry Willingham 1st X1 extended their lead at the top of the table after their magnificent 144 run victory over Barton Town CC.

Cherry hit 273 for seven thanks largely to captain Will Carter’s unbeaten 136 and wicketkeeper Craig Cosgrove who smashed 73.

The win puts the Lincoln outfit 32 points ahead of second-placed Alford CC who have played one more game than the leaders.

In other matches Bracebridge Heath 2nd X1 won by 31 runs over Alford and District CC 1st X1. Steven Scott starred with both bat and ball hitting 63 not out and then producing bowling figures of 5 for 16. Alex Moor hit 63 not out.

Scothern 1st X1 went down by 166 runs against Caistor 1st X1 and rock-bottom Hartsholme 1st X1 lost a cliffhanger to Holton-le-Clay by only two runs.
